Full Figured Bahams Crowns New Queen

Brittney Williams walked away with the title of Ms. Full Figured Bahamas 2009-2019 just hours ago at The Rain Forest Theatre Cable Beach.-- Nassau Bahamas.

A hush came over the audience as two beautiful vivacious, voluptuous young women stood poised with bated breadth each waiting to hear their name. But it would be Brittney Williams; Ms. Venus who would emerge victorious.

The Rain Forrest Theatre was the place to be on Sunday November 7th, 2009 as nine brave young women vied for the title of Ms. Full Figured Bahamas (M.F.F.B). Shortly after 8pm the curtain rose and the ladies came bursting onto the stage in a high-energy number choreographed by Tyrone "TJ" Stubbs.

The contestants dressed in silver along with the aid of the Juice Unit Dance Troupe dazzled the huge audience. They displayed poise and elegance during the opening number, which set the precedence for the entire evening.

The excitement grew as Lyn Terez Davis also known as Dynamite Daisy lit up the stage causing the audience to roll with laughter with her quick one liners. Her beauty blinded the audience and the judges alike but when she opened her mouth the most beautiful voice you could ever imagined gave a soul-stirring rendition of Falling In love with Jesus.
Pandemonium broke out when the handsome, talented, Julien Thompson, hit the stage with his popular song I Believe. In record time the audience was on their feet joining this silky voice crooner singing verbatim as he serenaded the contestants.
Performances also came from The Bahamas National Childrens Choir, Freddie Lightbourn, Mr. Caribbean International, Latasha Taylor and the dynamic youngster Amber Saunders whose self-choreographed dance routine left the audience in awe.
The entertainment was great however, the audience waited with bated breath for the hotly contested evening gown competition. Brittney Williams, wearing a gown designed by Cedric Bernard, won this category. The mermaid inspired number consisted of a pink silk skirt and a bodice made of straw, the tail was also lined with straw.

Contestants were also judged in areas of poise, stage presence, articulation and the exciting bathing suit competition.

And then there were five Brittney Williams, Saschenka Latoya Murphy, Claudina Storr and Tewanda Davis. All scores were discarded and the pageant host Ivan Thompson quizzed them trying to ascertain how well they answered questions
without assistance. All the young women gave great answers, which made the judges decision even more difficult.

Brittney Williams, a secretary with The Ministry of Health was awarded the title of the new Ms Full Figured Bahamas and she immediately give praises to the most high.
In a brief interview backstage she also graciously thanked her sponsor, the pageant committee, her family, her co-workers and everyone who assisted her in the journey towards capturing this title. I look forward to working with the pageant committee, who have worked hard with all contestants, and I am certainly looking forward to traveling to Puerto Rico to compete in the Ms. Bold and Beautiful competition.



The pageant was held under the auspices of Dr. Sandra Dean-Patterson and The Crisis Centre. Ms. Rayette Mcdonald. Director of the pageant stated I am confident that whomever won would represent the organization with elegance and poise. This is going to be a great year for Ms. Full Figured Bahamas and this is the beginning of something great.
