Junkanoobeat.com is the daily destination and virtual debate hall for some of the most inquisitive and influential Junkanoo fans on the net. Junkanoo Beat: Exploring the Future of Bahamian EntertainmentJunkanoo Beat is an online news source that covers new, alternative, and emerging entertainment events in The Bahamas. It is the only major Junkanoo site on the Net that focuses on Junkanoo Culture and Bahamian Entertainment without focusing on or advocating for one particular Junkanoo group or event promoter, and that balanced coverage has won Junkanoo Beat a large and loyal following. Our readership consists of many elite members of the Junkanoo world and Bahamian entertainment; those who intently follow the trends in Junkanoo and the Bahamian night-life that lie over the horizon. Junkanoo Beat was launched in 2001, and has seen particular growth since it altered its format and brought on new staff in August 2003. Junkanoo Beat is updated weekly and we syndicate our content (news, interviews, features, editorials etc.) to other entertainment web sites in The Bahamas and around the world. Other popular entertainment sites like TheNewBreed.tv regularly link into Junkanoo Beat articles. The Internet EliteIn short, our readers are the technical gurus of the Junkanoo groups that they work for, or are The Bahamas' future Junkanoo gurus (20% of our readers classify themselves as students). Junkanoo Beat readers come from the world's top academic institutions and The Bahamas' best Junkanoo Groups. Our readers are smart, inquisitive, and influential in their organization. They're the people that other people come to when they want the latest gossip on which group will be using what theme in the next parade. It is important to mention that about 70% (including those from outside The Bahamas) of our readers are members of a Junkanoo Group. Popular ContentSince the Junkanoo Beat re-launch, we have published many articles that have been particularly successful. Junkanoo Beat's most popular articles are original, often world exclusive, reviews of recent events and interviews with International Superstars. For example, over 150,000 read our recent interviews with Glen Washington and Spragga Benz. Also, a quick search for 'Junkanoobeat' on Google.com will reveal our interview with Marcia Griffith as the #1 search result.
